Quality, reliable health care for Bangladesh's middle class.
What brought you to realize the need for your venture in the world?
The challenges of quality and reliability in Bangladesh's health sector are understood and experienced by everyone, at all levels. Those who can afford to do so outsource their healthcare, traveling across borders for even the most basic of services, while the truly impoverished navigate a failing public health system. But for the emerging middle class, there is an opportunity and a desire to access quality health care without suffering the expense of traveling abroad, which can prove economically debilitating. The #1 reason a family falls back into poverty in Bangladesh is an illness in the family. Seeking quality healthcare shouldn’t be a driver of poverty.
If your venture succeeds in its mission, what would the world look like?
If successful in our venture, every Bangladeshi will have access to quality, reliable, world class, patient-centered health care. Through the Praakti Network, everyone in Bangladesh will have a real partner in managing her/his health, regardless of economic stature.
What brings you to the Pitch for People in search of human capital to support your org.?
As we look to fully implement phase-1 of our rollout strategy, we are in need of international expertise and resources to help us achieve our ultimate vision of world class health care in Bangladesh. In particular, we would benefit from the offered legal counsel, as the biggest portion of our expenditures to-date are legal fees given that our investment into Bangladesh is structured through a number of different jurisdictions. Additionally, we stand to benefit from the pro bono services of students who we are hopeful can help us with cutting-edge process design and impact metrics to ensure we are constantly providing the strongest patient-centered care possible. Communications counsel would also be valuable as we look to develop a communications and external relations strategy to help us best position our brand and connect with the best international partners and investors.
