Describe your venture in 8 words or less.

Helping the elderly by assisting them with accurately paying bills.

What brought you to realize the need for your venture in the world?

My aunt was living far from her children and told me that she had to “drive to the car dealer to drop off her check”.  In addition, the task of scrutinizing and paying bills on time was becoming overwhelming, and she, like most of her peers, were not comfortable using technology to make the process easier.  This was the genesis of SilverBills and since then, our clients have relied on our services to age in their homes safely and securely.

If your venture succeeds in its mission, what would the world look like?

By 2020, the U.S. Census Bureau predicts that there will be 56 Million Americans over 65.  By 2040, the numbers are predicted to be close to 80 Million!  That is a huge population shift, and our society is going to have to accommodate growing numbers of people who want to live in their homes as long as possible but need a variety of tools in order to do so safely and securely.

If SilverBills succeeds in its mission, thousands of elderly Americans will be able to live in their homes as long as they wish and will not have to move, because they are impeded by their inability to pay household bills on time and correctly.  SilverBills will help prevent eviction, foreclosure, exorbitant late fees and suspension of vital services like water and electricity.  Without help with the task of bill paying, more and more people will need to enter institutions, and this is neither socially desirable or economically feasible.

What brings you to the Pitch for People in search of human capital to support your org.?

I participated in the Women’s Program in the fall and discovered how amazing Inspiring Capital is.  I could benefit so much from continued help, and I need a team!  Since launching SilverBills full-time in September, clients have been helped in countless ways and new clients continue to enroll.  This growth and retention evidences the serious need for the services of the company.  Inspiring Capital professionals would provide invaluable support and guidance in the form of marketing, solidifying partner relationships, social media and countless other ways.

What's a quote or saying that inspires and motivates you?

Seth Godin:

"Fear is easy, hope is real

Fear shows up unbidden, it almost never goes away if you will it to, and it's rarely a useful tool for your best work.

Hope, on the other hand, can be conjured. It arrives when we ask it to, it's something we can give away to others again and again, and we can use it as fuel to build something bigger than ourselves. "

What's the best piece of advice you've gotten this week?

A medical professional told me to keep doing what I’m doing.  There’s a huge need, and there needs to be trusted service providers to fulfill the need.
